Pianist Yeol-Eum Son is one of the most talented pianists in her generation.
She is the winner of numerous awards and honors including third place in the 2005 Arthur Rubinstein International Master Competition which held in Tel Aviv, Israel, youngest first prize winners of 2002 Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli, Italy, 2000 Ettlingen International Piano Competition in Germany, 1999 Oberlin International Piano Competition in Ohio, U.S.A.; and youngest second prize winner of the 1997 Tchaikovsky International Competition for young musicians in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Yeol-Eum made her debut in the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series in July 1998. Ever since then, she appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras such as Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Century Orchestra and Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Baden-Baden Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi di Kuhmo, Tel Aviv Soloist Ensemble and almost every favorable orchestras in Korea including Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2004, she received wide acclaim for her scintillating performances with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel during their Asian tour.
This year in February, she again was invited to play with them in Seoul.Other activities in Korea include appearing at Goyang Aramnuri and Daejeon Culture and Arts Center, Jung Dong Theater for 3 days recitals along 3 big themes with all different programs, 7 Beethoven Sonatas recital in Sejong Arts Center.

Internationally, she had participated the Reingau Music Festival in Germany, Beethoven Easter Festival in Poland, Arthur Rubinstein Festival in Israel, Bowdoin Music Festival in the States. and the Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki Zdroj, Poland. In addition, she was the first prize winner of the competition in 2005 Hamamatsu Piano Academy Festival in Japan, also in Kissinger Klavierolympiade 2008 in Bad Kissigen, Germany and was attending for Annual Music Festival in Boston arranged by Chinese Performing Arts Foundation during 1995~2001 for studying with Cheng-Zong, Yin, one of the most respected pianist of China. Specially, in last year 2007, she was invited to play at the Welcoming Concert for new Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, of UN, which took place in UN General Assembly Hall in New York.

Ms. Son is a great chamber musician. She has make stages as a member of Kumho Asiana Soloists with promising young Korean musicians since 2007.In 2005, Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation awarded Yeol eum with its first Kumho Musician of the year presented to a musician with the most outstanding achievements throughout the year. With the Award, she has awarded with scholarship, free business class seats for Asiana Airlines for five years. In same time, she is also a recipient of the scholarship by Gangwon Miraeinjae Foundation.
In October 2004, Ms. Son released her first album with complete Chopin Etudes on Universal Music. Upon her graduation from the Korean National University of the Arts, she has been studying with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule fuer Music und Theatre in Hannover, Germany.
In Korean National University of the Arts, Yeol-Eum studied with Dae-Jin Kim.
