Konstantin Shamray was born on 27th of May, 1985 in Novosibirsk. He studied firstly in Music school in the city of Kemerovo (with Nathalia Knoblokh), and from 1996 continued his studies in Moscow, at The Gnessin Special Music School. Since 2003 he was student of The Russian Academy of Music (the Gnessin Academy) with prof.Tatiana Zelikman.
He is winner of International Youth Competition “Concertino-Praha” (I prize, 2000) and “The Russian Delphic Games” (golden medal, 2007).
He is a participant of concerts of many foundations: “The New Names”, The V.Spivakov Fund, “The Performing Art” Foundation, The Glasunov Foundation in Munchen and others.
He has performed in many concert halls in Moscow, other cities in Russia, as well as in Italy, Germany, Holland, Austria, The Czech Republic and The USA. He has given solo recitals with many different programs and played with orchestras.
He is a member of Moscow Wagner Society. Recently he was a recipient of the International R.Wagner-Stipendienstiftung and became a participant of the Bayreuther Festspiele 2007.
Konstantin Shamray has recorded CD’s, edited in Holland and The Czech Republic.
In August 2008 K. Shamray became the winner of the 9th Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia (First Prize and six special prizes)
Presently Konstantin Shamray is postgraduate student at the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music and studies with prof. V. Tropp.
